If he has legally acquired silencers, he went through the most stringent background checks, which figures he would pass as he is a commissioned member of the military.
As far as I read, he had some internet search history and lists on his computer for potential targets, so I'm not clear what exactly they arrested him on*. I'm hoping a friend or family member turned him in. Maybe whatever the cover story is will turn out to be the justification for parallel construction, which is kind of scary.
*He was on some sort of opiod, which would probably mean he perjured himself on any recent firearm background check forms, but they almost never prosecute people for that on its own.

The best part was when she and Jacob Wohl tried getting reporters to take a report they’d “commissioned” (typed up themselves in Word) seriously, only to be met with confusion because they wrote “Classified” on the front and didn’t realize what that meant
