it doesn't matter WHAT I say about how to treat me with respect, OR how kindly or calmly I say it; there is ALWAYS, ALWAYS a counter-argument; ALWAYS multiple people telling me that it's too hard, and the problem is me
I'm standing up for a friend and for something I believe in. That isn't anger. regardless of how it makes Viny Guy feel. I'm not violent. Vinyl Guy isn't a therapist. How is it not completely out of line for him to take his own missteps and aggressions and project them on to me? There is no case where that isn't rude. You don't have to look for it.
Telling another person, especially someone who is marginalized by society for just being themselves, that they are wrong, that they need to calm down, rather than listen to the very clear and rational explanation they provided for the attacks against them; arguing in favor of the aggressor and ignoring the victim is beyond rude. "No way"? You're out of your mind. There's "no way" to perceive it otherwise. It's rude. It's aggressive. It's shitty. And it was avoidable. As Ms Harmless already pointed out beautifully.
