So Iceland's PM just resigned over this:

http://www.nytimes.com/2016/04/06/world ... v=top-news

Can someone explain to me the effective difference between Iceland's President and PM? Wiki just says this:

The politics of Iceland take place within the framework of a parliamentary representative democratic republic. The President of Iceland is the head of state, while the Prime Minister of Iceland is the head of government in a multi-party system. It is arguably the world's oldest parliamentary democracy. Executive power is exercised by the government. Legislative power is vested in both the government and parliament, the Althing. The Judiciary is independent of the executive and the legislature.

I'm guessing that the PM acts like the speaker for Parliament, while the Pres is more of the executive action guy.

I haven't been following this leak but I have heard Argentine president Mauricio Macri is somehow implicated in all of this

Anyone know what sort of involvement David Lee Roth has in this?

Possibly shitty move on Almodovar's part, but it's not like he's establishing global banking policies for his day gig.

You're in the pocket of Big Spanish Cinema, aren't you? I bet you have offshore accounts in the form of shell ice cream companies. Release your tax returns! Jet fuel can't melt steel beams!

Why werent more Americans implicated? Does FATCA have enough reach to discourage Americans from even this level of elaborate offshoring?

Apparently The United States already is a tax haven

Well, as long as the IRS gets its cut, they dont seem to care. The funny thing is there isnt much reciprocity when it comes to foreign account information. Its not clear if the resulting competitive advantage for US banks is intended, but it seems to be the result.
