JFC. i feel bad for the next POTUS; it will almost certainly be four straight years of the thankless job of making amends and cleaning up messes. |

Trump's not exactly wrong though, he's just incapable of understanding why it's better to allow other allied countries to siphon off a little of the US economy. |

Not exactly wrong about what? A real free trade zone stretching across the G7 might hold a China/Russia alliance in-check economically and benefit the G7 nations as well. |

I think you're injecting a lot into Trump's childish tirade. |

Free trade has been a topic of discussion at G7 since jump. Last year, Trudeau was the one pushing for it and Trump was the one lashing out in opposition. And this year, Donnie announced a bunch of new tariffs right before heading to the meeting, blurted out “maybe no tariffs” without plan or purpose, then refused to discuss canceling even his new ones. |

I honestly don't think Trump is advocating anything. He doesn't have a goal or a big picture he's selling. He's just being contrarian. |

Anyone ever read any Robert Reich? I've read a few of his articles/essays before, but they have blurred together. Is The Common Good worth reading? |

This morning: MSNBC: Donald Trump and Mike Pompeo have already put some statements out there that make this summit sound like an anticipated win, which only gives North Korea more bargaining power on any topic they dislike. Meanwhile, the administration appears largely unconcerned about the blow up of relationships at G7. CNN: Boy is there a lot of anticipation and we’re anticipating the moment when we can start anticipating that. Analysis? What’s that? The big game is gonna start soon... Fox: KJU seems well liked here, and he has a lot of energy. He stayed up late and went to a discotheque in a building owned by a friend of Trump’s....so maybe staking out what his payoff might be if he plays ball. (Holy shit) |

If he was actually suggesting that, it'd be fantastic. He seems to be doing basically the exact opposite, though. |
