I was thinking a lot about these Tweets today, from January (right around the time Flynn made false statements to the FBI):
And this one, from just a few weeks ago:
Don't we think this is going to be the White House's reaction to the news? "Yeah, Flynn is a liar, and he should be punished for that--but even if we wanted to talk to Russia, it was for the good of the country."

Looks like the tax reform plan is gonna pass.
Sorry McP, it was all for naught.

It had to pass, and it had to pass pronto. There was no other way it could go. Even if it meant voting on the bill without vetting the language for error and while relying on scribbled notes in the margins to add provisions.

Flip that around: it's hard to overstate how much potential the coming weeks in the Trump controversy have to make people forget how much this bill sucks, if they can get it done before critical mass. Which is the other part of why they're in such a hurry.

Fuck trying to make jokes about this. It's a disgrace and shouldn't be diminished by making light of it the morning after.
No shit. The waitlist for G5’s doubled overnight. Fucking bullshit.

Uh huh.
I'm struggling to see a problem with this logic. If both these things are true, that he knew Comey had committed a felony, and that he had wanted Comey to ease up on Flynn after firing Flynn (which means he knew Comey had lied when talking to Comey), then I'm finding it difficult to see how that's not obstructing justice.

Yeah. Maybe give it a quick proofread. I’m pretty sure I know what you’re getting at, but not certain.

- Trump says he fired Flynn because he lied to both the VP and the FBI. Lying to the latter is a felony (and what Flynn just pled guilty to). - Comey later testified to Congress that Trump pressed Comey to drop the FBI investigation into Flynn before Trump fired Comey. - Which means that unless Comey lied to Congress, Trump was pressuring Comey to an end an investigation into someone Trump knew had committed a felony (we know Trump knew this because he just tweeted that he knew). I was asking how that would not be obstructing justice.
I mean, I know that none of this matters and it's not going to amount to anything. But it's probably good to know nonetheless.

And this is why it is important to ALSO report on and discuss trumps ridiculous tweets.
