I have not taken the time to look into this but I found the notion interesting:
There was a shooting in Seattle today, which is rare here. Yesterday we had record high temps and today was really warm, too, for the time of year. Like 84*. Someone pointed out that the heat brings up the number of shootings. Supposedly, statistically, this is a thing.

Could the shooter be forgiven for thinking it might be the end of the world with such un-Seattle weather conditions?

If accurate, this is a weird wrinkle in the tax stamp aspect of NFA regulated items. Its reasonable for living, non criminal holders of NFA items to expect some level of privacy. The question is why would the status of a $200 tax stamp be confidential after the owner is dead?
