Wasn't the last Japanese politician assassinated that socialist that got ran through with a sword? The Japanese have a thing with doing it theatrically.

Guessing he isn't going to speak out in favor of Anglophone rights.

There was a bit of a false warning of Serbia going nuts earlier. It seems like the issue is Kosovar authorities requiring Serb citizens of Kosovo to get Kosovo license plates.

I get it, fuck the man, but also, we can't possibly allow the Serbs to be responsible for yet another World War. They gave us Mr. AC, but that doesn't really even things out, does it?

They might be willing to fight to the very last, but there are only like 200 of them and their pretense at a minor empire seems bizarre.

The idea with good old fashioned political correctness (and its bastard offspring wokeness) is to make language so cumbersome and sterile that people will stop being able to assign some sort of personality to certain terms. Their perfect world is one filled with indistinguishable robots able to be reprogrammed by simply changing the language.

Of course, even if they were somehow successful in replacing the language in the NPC horde, actual humans would just shorten "incarcerated persons" to "incaps" or otherwise transfer the stigma to the newspeak, and a new, more bland and clumsy phrase would have to be invented. Truly a Sisyphean task they've set for themselves!

Salman Rushdie's attack just after the John Bolton business... Is Iran trying to throw the possibility of a deal?

It's fun that we are limiting newspeak-esque shorthand to pedofiles for now. (NOMAPs, etc)

The guy that attacked Salman Rushdie had a fake ID on him in the name of a Hezbollah commander. Parents from southern Lebanon, he was born in the US.

It's a shame he didn't run into the New Mexico serial killer and they could have just killed each other.

Reminder that while Carter is generally a good person, he had some important glaring blind spots that made him a borderline terrible president.

Free Speech/ Iran/ Nukes, damn, he couldn't get a damn thing right.

No, we just live in the detritus of his choices at the time.

For having undertaken 'risky tasks' regarding nuclear material, you'd hope he'd reconsider the risk register at the ripe age of... 97?
