Sounds like they picked DNA out of his trash. No word yet on how they got his name as a person of interest.

I read Michelle McNamara's book last month, and there were a ton of people in there speculating that he was a cop. He did things like always parking outside of the standard perimeter for a search party, attacking in neighborhoods where there were no patrols. She didn't use names of any suspects in the book (only pseudonyms for suspects and rape victims), but I wonder if he was ever on her radar.

The more you read this, the more you go "Wait what the hell." I almost want to assume this is all staged for a movie.

My favorite bits from the NY Post story:

"“It’s really unfair to me and really outrageous,” said the son — a self-described “businessman” who has a young boy of his own, of whom he lost custody."

"Michael, who has a younger sister who successfully flew the coop, said he resides in a bedroom located near his mom’s master bedroom in the Weatheridge Drive home, while his dad mostly stays in the basement."

"In 2017, Michael sued Best Buy for $338,500 for firing him two years earlier for not working Saturdays. That case is still pending."

And there's more.

A day old now, but this is pretty remarkable.

For a moment, Netflix was worth more than Disney

Quote:
For a while on Thursday, Netflix officially ruled the media world.
Its market value soared above $153 billion, overtaking Disney as the most valuable media company. Netflix (NFLX) shares were up Thursday even as Disney (DIS), Comcast (CMCSA) and the broader market fell.
But Disney regained the crown by the close after Netflix shares pared their gains, taking the streaming company's market cap below $152 billion.
Netflix is still in second place ahead of Comcast, which it passed Wednesday. The cable giant is now valued at about $145.5 billion.

Fragile male forgets to check his privilege and childishly fights against false rape allegations, corrupt school adjudicators and Title IX absurdity. Status quo patriarchal judge agrees with him.

http://thefederalist.com/2018/05/23/jud ... ss-fiasco/

Quote:
Doe was informed that he was “being charged” with sexual assault and harassment but was not told the specific complaint against him. It wasn’t until October 3, 2017, during a pre-hearing conference, that Doe was informed of the specific charges. He was not allowed to see JWU’s complaint report, read it, or have a copy. He was told to attend a hearing on October 20, but not how it would be conducted or what he was allowed to present.

He was told he could have an advisor who couldn’t participate but could sit next to him. He wasn’t told who would adjudicate his case (keeping him from finding conflicts of interest) and that he couldn’t have legal counsel. Incredibly, Smith was allowed to name [her boyfriend] as her advisor, thus keeping him from being questioned by Doe or the panel on his motivation and inconsistent statements. He first said he learned about the alleged assaults a month or two before he reported, then claimed he learned about them after seeing bruises on Smith the preceding year.

Doe was found responsible and expelled. He attempted to appeal but was denied within hours of his submission. All this led Judge McConnell to openly question JWU’s procedure. When JWU tried to argue their policies may be biased against the accused, but not against men, McConnell pushed back. He said he could not “for the life of me” find any reason the case proceeded as it did other than a bias against male students.

“This is perhaps the most aggressive Title IX ruling in any of the due process lawsuits,” Johnson wrote of the judge’s statement.

For the record, that is what systemic, institutional gender discrimination looks like.

A huge fight broke out in a bar I was at in college once, and in the resulting fracas all of the JWU kids were kicked out of the bar. I am pretty sure one of them stole my jacket as they left, so fuck JWU students.

The first round of Colombian presidential elections were held yesterday. The two worst candidates emerged out of the pool of 5: an inexperienced right-wing puppet of Alvaro Uribe, and a socialist who used to be a member of the M16 guerrilla and has a history of failures and scandals. I know who I'm voting for come June 17, but I am not happy about it.
