In the immediate aftermath it's certainly easy to focus on the idiot who made the call and caused all this, but you have a very valid point that's even more apparent given the circumstances of this situation. Cops are far too militarized and ready to pull the trigger. All they have to say is "he reached for his waistband" but here we have a situation where not only was the man unarmed, but the police were there on false pretenses. This man had no need to "reach" for anything. I'd further point out that the police are a pretty safe distance away from the guy to have such a reaction without even seeing a weapon. It's fucking bullshit.
