In just a couple of hours, Barbados becomes the newest and youngest Republic in the world. Replacing the English queen as head of state and declaring independence after hundreds of years of enslavement and all that comes from it.
The British monarchy and all its attendant aristocracy literally stole their ill gotten fortunes on the backs of this slavery and from the bleeding of countries like Barbados and hundreds of other counties. Many still under their dominion in the ‘commonwealth’. Such an insulting term. It’s anything but a shared wealth or heritage. Their colonialism destroyed those counties natural rights their resources and warped billions of people’s destiny’s. Jamaica and others are now following suit it seems.
