The board's server will undergo upgrade maintenance tonight, Nov 5, 2014, beginning approximately around 10 PM ET. Prepare for some possible down time during this process.

I had a friend who worked in a rare books room when we were in graduate school. The smoke detectors were wired to lock the doors and quickly suck the air out of the room if a fire was detected. If she was in there at the time, she'd have like 15 seconds to hit a failsafe button so she wouldn't suffocate.

This is why I'm not an archivist.

Just reading the wooden beams in the spire were around 500 years old. So they were full grown trees a few hundred years old themselves when they were felled so their seeds could have been planted as early as the fourth century.
Also, Joan of arcs trial took place in the cathedral. As did Napoleons coronation as emperor.
That’s a massive loss for history. But it’s still there and been gutted before so it’ll survive this.
Couple of billionaires have pledged 100s of millions to restore it and general public are also donating in vast amounts.

So because an old building burned down are we going to collectively forget that the Catholic Church has systemically sexually abused countless children and covered up the acts by those within its ranks and allowed them to continue abusing for decades by moving them to other places? Asking for a friend...

So...what about the wealth of the Catholic Church?

You'll have to help me out, this is a rough morning for me. Pointing out that Richard Spencer is a dick is...what?
The intent of that post is not pointing out Richard Spencer is a dick.

PFT is kind of a dick though so that comes with the territory. TBH, I don't know why twitter posted both posts. Now, it was about the RS post more than PFT, tat's just where I saw it.
