Absolute insanity that the imbeciles in the Tory party would bring Johnson back. It could get extremely ugly if he’s back in charge.

Are they not the ones that kicked him out?

How would the other party go about gaining control?

They did, following mass resignations of ministers in July after i) he admitted to being aware of sexual misconduct allegations against an MP and appointing him to a senior position anyway and ii) he lied about what he knew, meaning his colleagues had to go out and defend a lie before he came clean. Some of those who said they had no confidence in him are now clamouring for his return.

That’s to go alongside with the scandals over parties during lockdown, the misuse of public funds, getting sexual favours from his then mistress in his office and trying to get her a £100k job she had no qualifications for. He’s also being investigated by the parliamentary standards committee over whether he misled parliament over the lockdown parties (spoiler: he fucking did). If they find him to have misled the House, he will be forced to resign as an MP so therefore couldn’t be PM so we would be back in the same position. Lunacy.

The Tories can only be ousted via a general election. Unfortunately, this can only be called by the Prime Minister so there’s very little that can be done right now. Some MPs have threatened to resign or defect if Johnson is chosen as leader.

How does all this look to someone outside the UK?

About as messy and fucked up as our political processes and people, honestly. With a big dose of hopelessness.

King Charles does have powers to dissolve the government and force an election if he believes a government can’t be formed. It hasn’t been a power used in over 100 years I believe.
But it’s unlikely the palace will want anywhere near this shitshow.

Vast majority of people in the uk want an election now.

Ps Scotland hasn’t voted for a Tory government since the 1950s and Northern Ireland never has.
But tell us about the great British union of equals where each country has the same say.
They don’t at all fyi.

But England and Britain itself and democracy itself once again being held hostage by the dark fuckery of the tories and their obsession with staying in power.

It’s a cartoon clown show of a country right now more than ever. There’ll be mass protests and possibly ritoting if Johnson gets back in.
‘He partied while people died’.

Boris Johnson has pulled out of the race to be britains new pm.

He basically couldn’t muster the numbers to support his nomination.

Finally and hopefully some sanity returns to Britain and it’s politics.

But the internal civil war of the Tory’s continues to worsen.

Rishi Sunak is the new PM. First person of color and first Hindu to hold the office. Still a Tory.

And the new PM is only 42.
A major world leader is now younger than me, and by several years.

Oh God. Rivers of blood speech could be manifested into existence, not because he has Indian ancestry, but because he is spiritually Californian managerial class.

Why does she always look like she's about to cry?

Her correcting her unruly subjects is going to hurt her more than it hurts them, but it must be done.

Brexit might finally be done. And the unionist loyalist headbangers in the north of Ireland are not happy.
They never are though.

This is amazing. This the (current) British prime minister telling people in Northern Ireland how amazing they have it… everything the entire UK had *before* they left the eu and now doesn’t.

And he’s so with absolutely zero self awareness.

Almost comical
