I’m on a bunch of forums and fb groups re brexit
And assuming they’re not all infected by Russian trolls and bots,
The uk is definitely headed for civil unrest. They’re literally tearing each other apart online
But it’s remarkable and alarmingly obvious how uneducated and ignorant of what’s actually happening and why, even on a basic level, the vast majority of those who voted to leave are.
No concept of the reasons or history outside ‘we won WWII! The EU owes us!’

It’s frightening.

There’s a huge brain worm going on where because they’ve seen films set in World War II,
Think they have take Part in and won WII Personally. Or their father or grandfather.

The bbc have a lot to answer for, decades pushing this Rule Britannia / we saved the world, singlehandedly(not kidding. Most Brits actually believe this. America and Russia are barely involved) the world owes us narrative.

This is why we are where we are in a lot of ways. Mostly it’s their press though.

They invented trash misleading tabloid media.

We know well the lack of education and utter ignorance in Britain as it relates to Ireland. And thus the hold up.
Here they are sending their negotiatiors to other EU countries and insulting them too with their utter stupidity. This is kinda wonderful.
Not least cos they’re still trying to romance individual Eu countries when they’ve been told countless times by them all that the EU is not negotiating

This was the former speaker of the Slovenian parliament, Milan Brglez:

Quote:
"The British foreign minister comes to Slovenia asking us for a favour (to discuss with the foreign minister how to avoid a no-deal Brexit) while arrogantly insulting us. We were never a 'vassal state of the Soviet Union'"

Shitshow enters whole new level.
May still no closer to a deal in HOC and insisting on brexit on the 29th. Hundreds of pieces of legislation still not passed nor any further deals secured.
EU whispers that further 21 month delay may be necessary while EU president and chief brexit negotiation saying extension of article 50 is possible but only if there will be a definite outcome and not more tailspinning with no outcome.

Now, Labour, with just 35 days to go, (rather cynically to cover their asses) are calling for a second referendum. Referenda take at least 6 months to organise.

It’s all getting more and more bizarre each day

I had such hopes for him. He could have taken Britain in a whole new direction. Absolutely came to power at absolutely the wrong time. He’s been an utter disaster in all this.
Tories are crumbling and losing members and about to implode.

Easiest open goal for labour there will ever be. And he fucked it totaly up.

I’ve been comeplete hardwired addicted to all of the past month or two.
It’s been fascinating but a lot of the brexit forums and groups on fb especially(if they aren’t all infected by Russian fake accounts which a lot of them seem to be. )

But the news cycle and seemingly endless oh no shitshow of it is just the most surreal farcical nutyy can’t stop watching thing we’ve ever seen.

I was never was a big fan of his, he seems insincere, negative and as if he is hiding something. Labour needs someone brave and positive, with a real vision for the future, not both eyes on the past.

Well if this new party, the independent group, get more defections from tories and labour, it could change the game and the way their system works.
Tories and labour have both been putting party before country in this.
The IG for now seem to want what’s best and most sensible for the country.
They’re only days old though so let’s see if they can gain some momentum.
They should be able to. Complete fatigue about the whole issue is growing both sides within the public. As far as I can tell

They’re comprised of rebels from tories and labour both.
So I don’t know how much true cohesion can happen. But let’s hope.
Farrage has also launched a new party. Ugh.

I'm still holding out hope that someone anyone, is going to put a stop to this before it happens.

Is that at all likely?

prediction: In the weeks leading up to the deadline, the media will turn up the apocalyptic fearmongering to levels never before known, then they'll miraculously find an 11th hour compromise that isn't really a compromise and was just the plan all along. Then everyone will pretend it didn't happen and the hegemonic globalist superstate will proceed as designed.

Consume.

Could be what happened Burt. The Eu seem to be giving May an out with the talk of a 2 year extension. There will definitely be a riotous outcry about that but if she plays exactly as she has been, people will eventually switch from get it over with to ah forget it.

Events though. Are transpiring. Labour is imploding after its own initiative for a second referendum. They can’t agree what if anything at all
