How far can Britain fall? The Brexit debacle has already left the country bitterly divided, its parliament paralysed, its influence diminished and its reputation shattered.
And now, a new nadir: Boris Johnson is set to become prime minister. That means things could still get a lot worse.
Johnson is a profoundly unserious man wildly unsuited to high office. That’s to put it generously. In normal times, his ineptitude – on full display during his time as foreign secretary – would hold his country back. In these times of crisis, his character flaws could prove catastrophic.

The make up of his new cabinet is truly bonkers but clearly campaign mode for an election. The Eu said they’d grant a further extension for that and it saves Johnson from having to ask when he so adamantly and repeatedly said they’re leaving October 31st no matter what. He just said it today.
This is also him getting out in front of the gig of no confidence in him that’s due from Labour this Thursday

Priti pattel has been made Home Secretary. This is the woman that suggested threatening food shortages against Ireland in negotiations with full knowledge of the history here and how England actively ignored the famine.

Boom. Varadkar with the killing blow after Johnson’s speech This will ramp up the blame game saying Ireland’s the problem. When in fact it’s been told to them repeatedly on all fronts and from the EU.
Quote: The Taoiseach said that what British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said he wanted was clear, but not detailed.
Speaking on RTÉ's Six One News, he said the Irish Government looks forward to working with Mr Johnson in the future, to discuss issues on Brexit, bilateral relations and Northern Ireland.
He said he wanted to hear Mr Johnson put some "flesh on the bones" over the claims he made in his speech outside No 10 Downing Street earlier today.
Mr Varadkar said that confidence and enthusiasm were not a substitute for proper European policy.
Taoiseach Leo Varadkar has said that a new Brexit deal between Britain and the EU will not be taking place.
Speaking on RTÉ's Six One News, he said "Listening to what he [Boris Johnson] said today, I got the impression that he wasn't just talking about deleting the backstop, he was talking about a whole new deal, a better deal for Britain, that's not going to happen".
He said that the suggestion that a whole new Brexit deal could be negotiated in weeks or months was "not in the real world".

Johnson has just handed the most serious positions to people each one of them completely without any experience or competence for the roles and each of them have long histories of huge gaffs politically and diplomatically including Patel who went to Israel representing the UK as an MP without any official instruction. They foreign office in the uk didn’t even know. She just went claiming to speak on behalf of her majesty’s government.
Similar for the new Northern Ireland Secretary of State. He’s never even been in NI has no understanding of the political landscape and again is an embarrassing mess putting his foot in it.

Johnson’s speech to the people upon entering ten downing feet. Fantasy land promising endless things the uk can’t afford and would never be able to deliver. This is trump mark II minus the racism
