This may not work, but I'm curious what candidate people would choose if they HAD to choose from the other party.

I'm registered unafilliated, but I'm super liberal, so I generally vote Democrat.

If I had to pick from Cruz, Rubio, Trump, Kasich, Carson, or Bush today, I think I'd have to go Kasich. He's governed. Learned some lessons from that, and he might be the only candidate up there that has any brains whatsoever. Maybe Bush isn't a complete idiot, but no way should we allow a third Bush in office.

Despite running as a moderate Kasich has a very conservative record as governor.

Best of the worst choices, 4/5. Best of the worst choices.

Kasich actually did some good work on welfare and an Earned Income Credit for his state.

Kasich's a solid candidate who would probably win in the general election. Which is why the Republicans won't nominate him.

I mean, apart from the welfare thing and his being relatively mild mannered compared to others, his politics are pretty bad. Pro-NRA, wants to withdraw tax funding from Planned Parenthood, etc.

But his welfare program was interesting -- he established good funding, but with time limits and education/work programs to actually get people off the welfare before getting too comfortable.

Fine, then I'd take the person with the least aggressive foreign policy, which would probably be Kasich, but idk that for sure.

I would vote for trump before any of the empty suits the establishment has paraded out.

Yea, I saw this and wasn't totally surprised. Socially conservative people fundamentally have viewpoints that I find appalling. I was just trying to illustrate that fiscally speaking, he did at least one good thing that seemed like a totally reasonable approach to a complicated problem. And I do appreciate that he says he's moved on from the gay marriage debate. But at the end of the day, blocking abortions = evil.

I really like Samantha Bee. She's doing a great job so far. I hope they can expand Full Frontal to either 4/5 nights a week or an hour long.

And I get what you're saying. One can't be a one issue voter. I'm sure he's done some things that are positive and he does still somehow seem like the least evil of these weirdos. I agree. But god, why do these men have to be so gross about these important issues?

Is there anyone other than Clinton or Sanders to choose from?
