They found a body. Suicide bomber would be kinda weird considering the pre-recorded nature of the warning that appears to have come from the RV. Did the cops definitively say that they were broadcasting the loudspeaker evacuation warning?

Yeah I don't know, I just read this about the person and dog and assumed it was the same as what Burt was talking about:

"Prior to the explosion, officers had gone door-to-door or apartment-to-apartment to inform residents of the situation, Aaron said. One man walking a dog on 2nd Avenue was redirected by an officer just before the RV exploded."

If it happened that a person walking their dog was taken out by this bomb, I'd peg this on an alphabet agency. They don't much like dogs.

The US has had significant support aircraft up over the middle East over the past week. Lots of tankers, AWACS, etc. A lot of activity for nothing much happening.

It sounds like they expect Iran to do something to mark the one year anniversary of the killing of Soleimani. Apparently launching 107mm rockets at the embassy or airport every other night isn't cutting it anymore.

I wonder how many C-RAM barrels have been replaced during our time in Iraq. Good maintenance contract to have.

The US and Nato have started withdrawing from Afghanistan. The last ones will leave on September 11th.
