That all the intel agencies missed the collapse of the Afghan Army but get this right seems strange.
Maybe this is an attempt to reduce the crowds at the gates.
Lots of images of troops milling around or guarding the gates. Don't see any attempts to construct any cover.
The crowds are gathered all at ‘blast walls’ manned by departing troops i read. If that’s what you mean.
I’m watching videos all morning. It’s Fucking heartbreaking and so completely Frantic and horrible and grim
Necessary. It’s also necessary

How so? Obviously can’t airlift the entire population out. But those at the airport are wasting their time while far far many more others have started the long walk to Europe. The airport is getting all the coverage though obviously.

No idea who Rory Stewart is, but his statment on South Korea is a bit worrying. Current South Korean president is pro unification, so is he suggesting US troops are preventing the unification of Korea? If that is truly the will of the South Koreans, then shouldn't we get our troops out immediately?
If the South Koreans have the will, they have more than enough resources and manpower to stave off the North.
