The board's server will undergo upgrade maintenance tonight, Nov 5, 2014, beginning approximately around 10 PM ET. Prepare for some possible down time during this process.

 I like 4/5 but this is a pretty good line, peeps.

I mean 2 out of 3 ain't bad.

to be clear i wasnt taking a dig at anyone in particular on the board. more about facebook etc..

oh gotcha, I read that out of context then.

i appreciate the time and effort that people like 4/5, bi and mc put into responding to a lot of the news and debate. they surely put in way more research and know more things than most on here

Way to overlook those mining the Twitter mines for vibes based takes.

They will never appreciate us.

These people have no appreciation for intuition.

Yellin seems clueless here, is there a better argument against what he's saying here?

Yellen is punching above her weight in this role

She is a bright mind but a terrible public speaker

the latter in times of crisis is 100x more important than the former

Did it already pass the House? Is the governor likely to sign it?

Hasn’t passed the house. As for governor Kim Reynolds….

Quote:
”Ultimately, parents and kids will decide if they want to work or not,” Reynolds has said favorably about the bill. “It teaches the kids a lot. And if they have the time to do it and they want to earn some additional money, I don’t think we should discourage that.”

The children yearn for the mines. This is a mere step towards reversing this usurpation of the natural order.

When you ban enough books and kill off humanities, music, and art, there's plenty of time to earn a little scratch at the plant.

I mean if we’re serious about crushing China, we’ll need a portion of the labor force dedicated to low-value added production. Looking forward to seeing “Product of Iowa” on all my future Target purchases!

once AI puts much of the cognitive class out of business those factories will be able to re-staff the meat-grinder-cleaner roles with adults (former attorneys)

WaPo has a quiz that lets you decide how to negotiate the debt ceiling. I got "You are...The Diligent Deficit Hawk. Your top priority is getting our fiscal house in order. Unlike the Big Tax and Spender, or your archnemesis, the Money-Printing Maverick, you believe that the national debt is the foremost crisis."
