I don't feel bad for them when they respond to extreme poverty by voting for the guy who is going to take everything they have left. I don't feel bad at all. Stupid is as stupid does.

I also don't feel bad for people who are over-privleged and then whine like babies that they are victims of the under-prilveged. I won't even entertain the thought of listening to their nonsense.

This is why I can't get behind modern progressives. They enjoy others suffering far too much.

This is why I can't get behind modern conservatives. They enjoy stereotyping far too much.

I want to be clear that it makes me extremely sad to think that all the suffering Americans who voted for Trump are going to suffer so, so much worse in the next 4 years.

That's not what he said. He said he doesn't feel sorry for them. How is that enjoying suffering?

Your deductive reasoning leaves a lot to be desired.

Its probably normal to write off voters for those we oppose. For instance, I might blame the majority of voters in Venezuela for the Chavista paradise that they currently enjoy.

Maybe universal suffrage was a bad idea to begin with. :nice:

The 2016 election is getting the Game Change treatment
By William Hughes
Back in 2012, HBO and director Jay Roach offered up a four-years-later post-mortem on the 2008 presidential election—and specifically the effects that dark horse vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin wrecked upon it—in the form of the TV movie Game Change. The film was based on the book of the same name by journalists John Heilemann and Mark Halperin, who’ve since written a sequel about the 2012 race, and are currently hard at work on a third book documenting Donald Trump’s presidential upset last year.

Now, HBO has announced that Heilemann and Halperin’s latest will serve as the basis for a new Game Change film, with Roach returning to direct the chronicle of the time a glorified Twitter troll beat out a dedicated stateswoman to become the most powerful man on Earth. Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzmann will produce through their Playtone shingle. HBO has yet to announce a name for the project, but we’re kind of partial to Game Changed: We Can’t Change It Back, Oh God, I Think We’re Fucked.

Game Change the book covered the whole election, but movie focused mainly on Sarah Palin, I think (I read the book but I never saw the movie). I'd have to imagine this movie will focus on Trump, who has got to be hard to play without falling into parody. The man is a walking cartoon.

The Game Change movie focused on the relationship between Palin and McCain. Not sure if one got more screen time than the other, but it felt like a shared story.

There's a special election today in Georgia's 6th, the new HHS Secretary Tom Price's old district. There's a handful of local Rs and one main D with lots of outside money on both sides. My bet is there will be a runoff between the D and a R with R winning the second election. The district is mostly white, relatively well do Atlanta suburbs. The R presidential nominee had won the district with over 60% of the vote until Trump squeaked by Hillary 48-47%. At one point it was part of Newt Gingrich's old district for much of the 80s/90s.

Postscript
There will be a run off in June between John Ossoff (D) and Karen Handel (R).
