http://boston.cbslocal.com/2014/08/07/plymouth-man-survives-lightning-strike/

PLYMOUTH (CBS) – A Plymouth man is shocked that he survived a lightning strike Wednesday.

“I just saw a big flash,” Bruno DiFilippo told WBZ-TV a day later.

“I look down and I saw these blue sparks come out of my ankles and it went about five, ten feet.”

The lightning bolt went in his shoulder and out his ankles as he was holding a hose outside his home.

His girlfriend witnessed the terrifying scene.

“All of a sudden I see him kind of jolt, his eyes turn bright red, he lit up like a Christmas tree,” Lisa Rengucci said. “He shook just a tad, and he’s talking the whole time, and he says, ‘I think I was just zapped!’”

EMTs took Bruno to the hospital after the lightning strike. Even though the electricity shot out of his ankles, it left a mark only for a short time.

The diagnosis?

“I am a really lucky man,” he said.

Asked what kind of vitamins he takes, he told WBZ: “Espresso.”

I didn't realize CBS is making the people who write "Two Broke Girls" do news stories in Boston.

They literally just transcribed the script from the video package that ran on the tv newscast.

http://boston.cbslocal.com/2015/04/09/j ... dez-trial/

FALL RIVER (CBS/AP) — The judge in the murder trial of former New England Patriots player Aaron Hernandez says two jurors were followed by a Boston TV station after their second day of deliberations, and she has threatened to ban the station from the courthouse.

The two jurors told Superior Court Judge Susan Garsh on Thursday morning that they were followed by an SUV from Boston NBC affiliate WHDH-TV on Wednesday.

One of the jurors showed the judge his phone with a photo of the Ford Explorer’s license plate.
Garsh said after discussing it with the jurors she believed it was a serious matter and could have resulted in a mistrial.
She ordered the station to have someone testify on its behalf by 12:15 p.m., or WHDH will be barred from the trial.
The station reportedly asked for more time because the 52-mile trip from Boston to Fall River takes more than an hour.
WHDH issued this statement just after noon:
“This morning, in the Aaron Hernandez trial, the judge questioned 7 News as to any impropriety with the jury in the case. 7 News did not approach any juror or talk to any juror. We also did not videotape or take pictures of any juror. We are continuing to work with the court and investigate the situation.”
“I’d like the person in the van to tell me whether anyone in the company directed him,” Garsh said.
If the driver wants to assert his Fifth Amendment right not to testify, “At a minimum I want someone from the company to say what investigation they’ve done,” she said.
She said if that did not happen, she had no choice but to draw the inference that he was directed by the station to follow the jurors.
Garsh also banned the driver, who has not been identified, from being anywhere near the courthouse, and said she was issuing a written order that no one shall approach, follow, contact, harass, photograph or take down the license plates of jurors.
The 12 jurors resumed deliberations Thursday morning after spending a combined nine hours deliberating on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Hernandez is charged with the June 2013 shooting death of Odin Lloyd, who was dating his fiancée’s sister.

Not nearly as much as you'd think. The thing is, there's so much turnover in this industry that the place down the street is usually employed with people you've become friends with over the years.

But from a management standpoint, ordering a camera operator to follow a juror after court is exactly the type of thing 'hdh would do.
