The party never advocated for defunding the police, even if a few members did. Mr. Left himself - Bernie Sanders - even came out against it right away and called for more funding.

Not saying no is the same as saying yes on policies like this and it was promised, though not always executed, at the local level (where most police are) in blue cities all over the country from SFO to Minneapolis to NYC. And we cannot forgot the beacon of leftist light that is Portland.

I thought Bernie's plan was solid (a search here will yield that), but it doesn't matter because Bernie, like most old white lefties, centers oppression in terms class not intersectional identity.
