I'd say the Pope's comments that were released yesterday are a pretty big deal, at least to some.

I may be stepping pretty far out of my realm of competency here, but this seems like a pretty straightforward "render unto Caesar" interpretation here.

Civil Union is pretty explicitly not a church marriage. I don't know how else you can read it? Gov't ministers are not in conflict with church teachings if they allow this thing that the church is not involved in. They can still be fundementally disordered* and still find meaning in a family life.

*not sure if I got that language right from previous teachings on homosexuality

This is a good friend of my wife. He married his husband and the Catholic school he teaches at fired him. I guess diddling little boys isn’t a fireable offense though

This is normal for Catholic schools. Not exactly a loophole.

I can understand if you want to ban the existence of parochial schools why you'd be upset.
