I just read that article this morning Anders, and it's a very good one. Scary, scary stuff. And I need to learn how Transnistria has been a sustainable thing while being wedged between Moldova and Ukraine.
It’s just a Russian puppet, filled with Russian military, both funded and exploited by an oligarch and the Russian government. Should really be a regular part of Moldova.

I get what it is and what it should be, I just need to learn how Russia's been able to keep it going all these years despite not bordering it.
Well, Ukraine which have a large army, have had absolutely no reason to invade, whether Ukraine was in partly pro-Russian times, or even now, in a war with Russia.
Moldova had by far Europe’s weakest army. Almost like a pacifist country.
Russia of course is a superpower, and Putin supports Transnistria, even wants to build a land border through the war with Ukraine.
Igor Smirnov, the ruler if Transnistria is like a little Putin, and is supported by Russian troops and commerce.
