The board's server will undergo upgrade maintenance tonight, Nov 5, 2014, beginning approximately around 10 PM ET. Prepare for some possible down time during this process.
If the Chechnyans start a second front, UKR might actually survive this.

Sanctions have been effective at crippling the Russian economy. That's the conclusion of a new 118-page paper from Yale's Jeffrey Sonnenfeld and 18 co-authors. The big question about Russia sanctions is whether they have teeth, if they exclude Russian oil and gas. While official Russian statistics suggest the economy is using its oil and gas revenues to withstand the effects of sanctions, Sonnenfeld's paper says that the official Russian statistics are lies.

They arent a lie, white countries just can't comprehend that non-white countries have money and global power now and don't need them anymore.
Russia has everything the future needs. The energy, water, rare earth elements, soil... even if they 'lose' in UKR they will never not be at the top of the food chain.

Re: structure crasher into: More like trust your instincts at pattern matching but don't reflexively lean into it if you had prior knowledge of Russia being an asshole.

Your use of white is a bit confusing. We need to make Russia white (Romanov) again so they can be a regular imperial country. No need to reclaim lost colonies if you are a dignified monarch like the Brits.
Various Ukrainian factions have threatened this previously, but their Neptune missiles don't have warheads big enough to destroy the bridge. Even hastily constructed Russian bridges are difficult to destroy by lobbing explosives at.
I do enjoy the demoralizing effect on Russian tourists though. Maybe don't vacation right next to an active warzone?

Ukraine's maximalist position (regaining Crimea, Donetsk and Luhansk) seem entirely unachievable without NATO getting involved with at a minimum an air campaign. Maybe that position makes some sense in that Russia's demands are totally incoherent and it's not clear what terms they would accept for something as minimal as a temporary ceasefire.
The West is running out of relevant artillery and other systems to provide, even with mobilization and foreign training, what are the Ukrainians going to use to retake all this territory?
