The board's server will undergo upgrade maintenance tonight, Nov 5, 2014, beginning approximately around 10 PM ET. Prepare for some possible down time during this process.
My sister in law’s brother, wife and daughter, have managed to get to northern Ukraine, and feel safe there.
Her parents and aunt and uncle refuse to leave, and are staying in the Kherson area. The banks and stores are closed, and food can only be bought at a market. Her parents, which I know well, and consider my family, are doing ok at their house, which is almost like a tiny farm, with some animals and a piece of land to grow on. Their hens provide them with eggs.
They also said that there is going to be a referendum next week to make Kherson a Republic. Similar to the two Donbas Republics. Maybe it's in the news somewhere, but it's the first I've heard of it.
Ukrainian forces have advanced at some locations to the western suburbs of Kherson, as Russian Federation (RF) authorities continued preparations to hold a “public referendum” in the occupied city, official and news reports said on April 25.

Can't imagine having to deal with fleeing to another part of the country. Glad part of your family is safe. Hopefully the parents do ok staying in Kherson.
