I mean, I switched it off on our ring system (and Alexa is forbidden in our house) but if you live in an area with high coverage, there are cool things a wide area mesh network can do. Making sure you kids get to school on time, finding a run away dog, highly precise emergency response, having you alarm work if a burglar cuts your cable line, etc.
