Ok you worry about that. I'll worry about more important things.

I can't get over how incredibly devious morning talk/news shows are. Pure unadulterated state propaganda from start to finish. And it's so creepy! It's indistinguishable from Black Mirror. And this is all we had to go on before the internet. Powerful mind control.
Unironically a far far larger problem, as the interest in Jan 6 shows.
Inflation is up 8.6% Drug related deaths at all time high Murder rates still surging all over the country Abortion (and maybe Affirmative Action) is about to be rolled back Housing and equity markets are collapsing We've had more mass-shootings than days this year There's probably greater than a 1 in 10 chance a Supreme Court Justice is going to be assassinated before November Mega-drought in the west Russia is winning in UKR and we're the closest we've been to nuclear war in decades
So I get that Trump is despicable and should be held accountable, but we've got much bigger shit to worry about right now

People are still so obsessed with trump being held accountable for something... anything. Get over it, it's not happening. Move on with your lives.
Kinda like this:

People don’t dislike each other because of abstract politics or morals. That’s not how humans function. People dislike each other because of pure lizard brain shit, the kind of brute emotional entanglements that determined who you were friends with in elementary school. I’m something of an asshole so I’m never particularly aggrieved when people don’t like me. I can be a real dick. I make people feel insecure. I 100% get not liking me. What bothers me is when people dress this shit up with high-minded moral or political principle, pretending that they’re so elevated that they’re only motivated by abstract notions of the right and the good. Bullshit. You don’t like my style. You don’t like my attitude. You think I’m pretentious and corny and mean. Fair game, fair game, fair game. But don’t tell me our disagreements are political when they’re personal. I’m not saying you don’t disagree with some of the things I say. I’m saying that even if you didn’t you’d find a way to justify not liking me.
Hey, I went to graduate school with this guy. Our paths only crossed a few times, but he was really nice.

i see what you did there
it is possible to be concerned about all of those (and more) and still think trump and his cronies should be held accountable

Rhode Island has a calming effect on most people. I remember specifically I got pulled out of a hallway to present something to new grad students, I had to go completely off my dome, and afterwards he made a point to find me and say how helpful I was.
Actually I don't think that it is possible. Let it go. Free yourself.
It's possible to think it, absolutely.
It's not possible to effectively govern the nation with the time and energy being spent on it now. As all those things get worse over the summer and we head into the midterms, voters are going to ask what our elected officials did to help and the answer is gonna be, for the 400th consecutive time, "Orange Man Bad".
That's how we get president DeSantis in '24

It's cute that you think there's anything that could stop the GOP from winning in 2024.

He's implying that if the Democrats *didn't* do "Orange man bad" and instead focused on achieving concrete policy goals that address any of our numerous social ills (how they achieve this given the current Senate makeup, unclear), then maybe they wouldn't get DeSantis 2024. Whereas I think it's a forgone conclusion that the GOP wins in 2024 and the only question is whether it's Trump or DeSantis.
Gun to my head I'm still saying Trump, but a lot can happen in two years.

Would normally not post lil' cucky vert here, his wife is a doctor, but he's kinda right this one time (and his wife is a doctor):
