The UK’s Cass report has been released:

Damning and hopeful at the same time.

Press release: The Cass Review is bad science and should not be taken seriously by policymakers

https://transactual.org.uk/blog/2024/04 ... anfKmX516k

It’s a very difficult subject, but what Dr Cass has done is expose the absence of evidence that the affirmation first model is appropriate for and effective in children, and her recommendations for additional research before resuming chemical treatment paths in children are very reasonable.

Brooks in the NYT on the NHS’ Cass Report:

https://www.nytimes.com/2024/04/18/opin ... =url-share

Quote:
Cass, a past president of Britain’s Royal College of Pediatrics and Child Health, is clear about the mission of her report: “This review is not about defining what it means to be trans, nor is it about undermining the validity of trans identities, challenging the right of people to express themselves or rolling back on people’s rights to health care. It is about what the health care approach should be, and how best to help the growing number of children and young people who are looking for support from the N.H.S. in relation to their gender identity.

Yeah, I just wanted to point out that Nex was not murdered in the bathroom. Nex was clearly failed by everyone in their life that should have been protecting them regardless of identity

they didn't die "regardless of their identity", that's just the way you'd prefer to talk about it

Does your basis for disregarding it as unethical start from a place substantially different than what's discussed below?

I'm sure you have other criticisms, just curious if you've got some novel ones.

How does one blindly randomize gender affirming care?

It’s all good, everyone gets it wrong sometimes, and on this topic in particular it’s easy to be misled by malicious activists like c4rbell0. But if you interested in understanding the X thread above explains how the report assessed and weighed the various studies and what the recommendations actually were… vs what the for-profit activist class claims it says.

C4rb3ll0, Erin Reed, Turban, the TikTok surgeon in Florida, those types who use advocacy in this area to promote and enrich themselves instead of their cause. Very common in right leaning advocacy as well
