I think it’s really telling that the people living in the most liberal states tend to be the most pessimistic about our nation’s politics (at least on RM)
conservative politicians at the top of the power structure are bad actors who do not negotiate in good faith. trying to restore to some magical point of bipartisan mutual respect is a fools errand at this point
It is way more likely that the Republicans take back the House in 2022 and immediately try to impeach Biden for assorted Hunter crimes than some sort of return to compromise in the autumn of American capitalism.
yep
Just to clarify, I don’t see a return to compromise under Biden; I see a lot of gridlock. But at least it will be civil.

Yea for a brief moment today i remembered those clips of Lindsey Graham speaking highly of Joe Biden and thinking bipartisanship would happen.
Then i turned on the tv and saw lindsey graham bleeding from the mouth about fraud.
This is actually going to get worse over the next few years.

Your hate for the right is as palpable as theirs is for you. If you want to make a might makes right argument, fine, but you will absolutely have to use violence to keep everyone together.
You said yourself that this is going to get worse. I agree. It's been getting worse for decades. And it's accelerating. And there isn't anything conceivable that would reverse this trend anytime soon. What you gonna do? More internet/media censorship? You really think that can work now?
