he also told obama that he wasn't interested in the oval office anymore, and here we are. once he's entrenched, he won't want to walk away. the only thing that would change that is health/age issues. he'll be 78 in two weeks.

I’m already viewing this administration as a return to baseline normalcy before the parties can figure out what lessons they’ve learned, before returning to an even more impassioned — and hopefully better articulated — debate about America’s future in 2024.

I think it’s really telling that the people living in the most liberal states tend to be the most pessimistic about our nation’s politics (at least on RM)

conservative politicians at the top of the power structure are bad actors who do not negotiate in good faith. trying to restore to some magical point of bipartisan mutual respect is a fools errand at this point
