The board's server will undergo upgrade maintenance tonight, Nov 5, 2014, beginning approximately around 10 PM ET. Prepare for some possible down time during this process.
I think it's pretty suss how Biden bombed a bunch of shit and a few days later the media is reporting he heroically diverted a MOAB headed for a bunch of five year olds. How dumb do they think we are?

So he's Reagan now:
"In leaning too hard into white identity politics—and perhaps being too focused on what he thought Reagan Democrats wanted—Trump accelerated the rise of a new voting bloc that is, in many ways, the mirror image of the Reagan Democrats.

The possibility of the GOP becoming Bidenesque should be celebrated

It might be the most concentrated direction of resources towards the poor and middle class that post-Reagan America has produced (though I’m open to being wrong).
- Makes student loan forgiveness tax free (watch this space).
- Covers 100% of COBRA health insurance costs through September for people paid off during the pandemic.
- Reduces ACA premiums, primarily for lower incomes. For an individual making $19,300 a year, the premium drops from nearly $400 to zero.
- Increases the child tax credit to $3,000, up from $2,000.
- Extends the existing $300 weekly unemployment benefit from the December bill, due to expire in March, through Sept. 6.
- Extends Medicaid eligibility for qualifying pregnant women from 60 days post partum to one year (!!).
- $8.5 billion in funds for the Provider Relief Program to assist rural health care providers (!!).
- Provides a tax break on up to $10,000 in unemployment benefits.
- Half a billion for programs providing overnight shelter, meals, etc.
- Expands the Employee Retention Tax Credit for start-up companies and other businesses hit by the pandemic.
- $1.25 billion aimed at summer enrichment programs and $39 billion aimed at child care costs and supporting struggling facilities.

The Democrat strategy book is clear: you chicken out and roll back your own proposals, you bumble your messaging until you appear to validate every criticism, and you sink your own polling. Then you pass a tepid, token bill, and promise to get it done for real in four years if people will just turn out and vote (this time we mean it).
I have to wonder if part of the reason that didn’t happen this time is that Republicans were too busy pooping their pants about Dr. Seuss to form and amplify a coherent opposition message.

Keeps the filibuster, but reduces its power (once you are unable to physically hold the floor, an up-or-down vote occurs) and makes using it hard work.
I didn’t have “Joe Manchin supports filibuster reform” on my bingo card, either.

Just think of all the incremental, centrist progress we could expect if this actually happens!
