The board's server will undergo upgrade maintenance tonight, Nov 5, 2014, beginning approximately around 10 PM ET. Prepare for some possible down time during this process.

They must be leaving someone out of that acronym.
And yes, they left out the two spirit folks

Wait, what's the 2?
Two-Spirit (also two spirit or, occasionally, twospirited) is a modern, pan-Indian, umbrella term used by some Indigenous North Americans to describe Native people in their communities who fulfill a traditional third-gender (or other gender-variant) ceremonial and social role in their cultures

I feel dirty contributing to this thread, but apparently "mothers" are cancelled. They're now "human milk-feeding individuals" although "lactating person" is "appropriate in many settings."

At least they're not going with birthing person--I recently listened to a rant from one of my relatives who adopted her daughter on how offensive that term was to her.
But good god, four words and ten syllables is an abomination to the English language. With the birthing person thing I was going to joke that they could just cut that in half by going with birthers, but, y'know, that word already got taken for something else....

It also says sometimes sex specific terms (like mother) are appropriate. Just working to be inclusionary, nothing being canceled.
That's fair. I saw that and it just made me laugh that calling a mother a mother is "appropriate in many settings."

I’ve noticed a couple places in the hivemind (Twitter/Reddit) that “gestation” has replaced “pregnancy” when discussing the bonkers Texas abortion law. I bet that rebrand is coming elsewhere soon.
