It’s probably a good thing. A red team court would protect the bill of rights far more than a left leaning court and that’s going to be important given the blue team’s insistence on identity driven socialistic policies.

Even the most basic understanding of 20th century history should give you enough evidence to fear what they are clamoring for. A federal jobs guarantee? Abolishment of National borders? You cannot in good faith believe this are wise or even viable policies.

but its good policy to limit who can come to the country based on whether the sitting president has business ventures in that country? to allow women to decide what they can do or cant do with their pregnancy? how bout getting in bed with another nation to influence an election....is that good policy?

there has to be a mix between the two, one side controlling it all is never good for a nation

I think the thing to remember here is that this isn't going to be a slam-dunk nomination for someone who's going to end abortion rights. The Republicans have such a slim margin in the senate that they'll need both female R senators to vote yes. Collins already indicated she considers Roe v. Wade settled law.

The greatest political theft with the greatest consequences in the history of the union. Fuck Donald Trump, sure... but absolutely FUCK Mitch McConnell. I hope he dies in extreme, prolonged pain.

I will dance on Mitch McConnell's grave with all my joy and power. He is a treasonous coward. I can't wait for him to be dead.

I mean, part of the big concern in the long run is something similar you're going to see more and more in Congress, which is that as the decades go on, Republicans are likely to be at an extreme legislative advantage that is not going to be represented in the makeup of the country. Younger generations are markedly more liberal than older generations; that's not revelatory or anything, but unless large swaths of younger Americans change their political persuasion, the Republican party in 20-25 years will likely be in quite a bit of trouble, in terms of the raw numbers.

But that's not really true in Congress, with gerrymandering, but also sorting; younger liberals are moving to cities and other areas where there is a better culture/more job opportunities, while older conservatives remain behind with a power greater than their raw numbers. And I think it's going to be even more pronounced with the Court. Let's say Trump wins re-election; it's conceivable that 15-20 years from now, you could have a 7-2 or 8-1 conservative court in a country far more liberal than it is today. Which I would imagine would get fairly ugly.

Burts wildest dreams are coming true.
