Feinstein isn’t even on the judiciary committee anymore. Who cares what she says

F that! Didn't ACB take like 27 days?!

Michelle Obama to the court for the win!

I honestly don’t know so I am asking: Does Michelle Obama have the requisite law degree or whatever other qualifications are necessary?

(I have no idea what qualifications are necessary)

I believe that technically no qualifications are necessary.

Wow, now that is really something.

ST is exactly correct. The Constitution doesn’t specify any qualifications are necessary to hold the position of Supreme Court Justice.

And that’s totally mind blowing.

Recall that W nominated someone who had never served as a judge (Harriet Miers), although she withdrew before any formal proceedings took place.

And this is exactly why the lack of formal qualifications are irrelevant.

The qualification is that a president nominates you and the Senate confirms. Unless the Senate is recessed, in which case the only requirement is that the president nominates you.

So technically the president could nominate bammer.

He does have experience in the courtroom.

Just for the record, Michelle Obama has a degree from Harvard Law. Never served as a judge, worked for a law firm for about three years before moving into the public sector.

So bammer has more courtroom experience than Michelle?

Depends, how many cases did she try in those three years? Bammer claims he's only in the courtroom a few times a year, but he's got a longer career, it seems.

I’d ballpark actual appearances somewhere around 35

Somehow, no one who was ever a public defender will be suggested for nomination.

Later in his thread of tweets:

"It is hard to overstate how lawless the Supreme Court's order is. The five ultraconservative justices broke the court's own rules to intervene with an unreasoned shadow docket decision that effectively nullifies a key provision of the Voting Rights Act. It's profoundly alarming."

Congrats, Mitch!

Lol no. That’s over about 10 years.

Communist movements named by date probably should consider including year at this point, because when you are a straight up Maoist or whatever and Wikipedia has two M19 results...
