I just read an article that made light of the fact that it wasn't until 1984 that states started changing the drinking age from 18 to 21. 1986 was the cutoff date.
the 2nd half of Bart O'Kavanaugh's senior year he was 18 and legally allowed to buy and consume
hence the treasurer of the keg club
attempted rape aside, should someone be shat on for buying kegs and drinking them when it was legal to do so?
the answer is clearly yes

You’ll see on my calendar here from when I was 17 that I did not attend an underage drinking party and also that I definitely did not go to see Titanic twice while it was in the theaters.

So there's:
1. Dr. Ford 2. Deborah Ramirez *3. Mark Ford's ex-girlfriend's account of a gangbang style assault on a drunken woman (Kavanaugh is one of the perpetrators) *4. Michael Avenatti's as-yet unnamed client
*Avenatti has clarified that his client is not Deborah Ramirez, but it's unclear if his client is the same woman as #3.
So that's 3 or 4 accusations now. Surely that's enough to sink this guy, right?

GOP either did not do their due diligence on this guy or they did and Trump really wanted him because he is mas puervo as well
Quote:
“I wasn’t going to touch a penis until I was married,” Ramirez said of the incident. “I was embarrassed and ashamed and humiliated.” She told the New Yorker that she remembers Kavanaugh standing to her right and laughing, pulling up his pants. “Brett was laughing,” she said. “I can still see his face, and his hips coming forward, like when you pull up your pants.”

We mustn't succumb to these accounts only because it is politically expedient, trag.

these women the GOP are attempting to delegitimize - these aren't porn stars or playmates or whatever
these are upper class / ivy league women
not the same impact as disparaging the Trump's entertainment industry tramps
these are the children of 'landed elites'. you can't just shit on these people and not experience backlash from the upper rings of society
they have a socio-economic network, credentials, degrees, etc
GOP stepped in shit bigtime with this one

I agree in theory, but the non-expedient route would be an investigation. Farrow notes that the statute isn't up, and Abramson gives a jillion characters more on how it could all play out, but the GOP will likely fight that route tooth and nail; they want this decided in the court of public opinion, with a wide enough margin of uncertainty that they can push their guy through in hopes that everyone will forget it all within just a few months. And if that's the game they want to play, then I say yeah, let's drag him through the mud until they can't wash the stink off...
Due process is absolutely the way I'd like to see this go, because there's absolutely a chance that these woman are lying. But in light of the GOP's likely denial of that due process, I'm forced to go with my gut, which tells me that Brett Kavanaugh is a scumbag.
