I think I've finally cracked English royalism. If you cast your mind back a few centuries when everyone was religious, the thing to understand is that royalism isn't a belief in absolute power over England (and it was England back then) as the highest power. Royalism was a belief in God having absolute power to rule over the English people, with his rule carried out through his representative on Earth, the monarch. If a pretender to the throne could convince the population that the Monarch was failing in this duty, then they could persuade the population to back them into supporting their overthrow of the Monarch. And so nothing could get in the way of God's rule. Not some hypothetical European union, nothing. If someone had to lie to the Monarch to ensure God's undiluted rule was carried out, they would. If they could convince the population of this, then they would support his or her lying to the Monarch to ensure that God's undiluted rule over the population could be carried out.

but their king only created their religion because he was a horny perv

This discussion went way too long without this quote, and even worse, it got bottom paged.

Good for them. The British tabloids are horrible, living in London even in a Palace would suck, and Canada - especially Vancouver - is a waaaaay better place to live, even if downgrading from Royal Family Wealth to just Upper Middle Class. They will be so much better off. Plus if they ever need to raise cash they can just release an album on iTunes.

I wonder if certain Brit tabloid people will try to move to Canada to be closer to them? I don't picture the Canadians / Canadian government tolerating that shit. They mind their own business up there.
