I’m not following how this works or what you mean by footprint (do you mean fingerprint?) Do you have a link or something that goes into better detail?


You could put a digital signature on any file you like. News site (or anyone really) could put their digital signature on videos they created which could be verified by anyone. This way you can at least know who created a video and decide if you trust the source.

Thinking a step further: Maybe in the future only videos taken with specific software that automatically signs the video can be used in court.
