It’s going to get worse: Most were built more than a decade ago, when installations were less than a fifth of what they are now.

The Berkeley city government has done a great job of physically manifesting the simmering resentment the city feels for motorists trying to travel anywhere in the city. Of course they hate the idea of anyone else living in their neighborhood. There's a nice coalition of aging hippy boomers living in rent stablized units and well to do homeowners who got a ton of free equity over the past 20 or so years that are anti growth.
