Kamala Harris was on the Today show trying to convince teachers that they should go back to school even if they can't get the vaccine. It's a stupid policy that lacks compassion and Savannah Guthrie slaughtered her on it.

This is basically what the conversations are like in most school districts right now:

I sympathize with teachers who may have some added risks, but there are plenty of examples out there showing you can open schools without vaccinating all teachers. As I've said, most school districts in my area (one of the hardest hit states at first) have been open since September. Been a bit harder in cities, as expected, but overall it's been fine out here.

while the comments from the board deserve them to lose their place am i the only one who was shocked that no one in those interviews were wearing a mask? for a place that has had 60K confirmed cases and over 600 deaths that seems a bit odd to me

It was more than I expected honestly but I could be greedy and ask for something isn't just "so and so isn't being liberally enough!"

The day after our school district voted to go back to class, one of the Board members who voted to go back tweeted a video about a teacher who lost both of her arms due to COVID complications. It was insane for a bit.

That's usually my complaint.

I feel bad for the teachers and it's a tough position to be in.

But hasn't it been shown there's been low transmission in school settings?

There's a lot of us that have had to just grin and bear it and go into work.
