The board's server will undergo upgrade maintenance tonight, Nov 5, 2014, beginning approximately around 10 PM ET. Prepare for some possible down time during this process.

I'm so there. Who wants to join me in the ignorant masses who don't watch the news, don't care who the president is or who controls Congress, doesn't know the names of senators from other states (or maybe even their own)? Let's take our lives back from the soul-sucking process of caring about our country!

Our president is now involved in a back-and-forth on Twitter with a porn star who he's called "horseface," who in turn has responded with a jab about his apparently tiny dick, and this is all being reported on with vigor by the MSM. Can someone please tell me how this shitshow isn't going to lead to people just completely checking out of the putrid landfill the American political landscape has become?

I’m working from home with cable news on, and so far all the talk I’ve seen was regarding the Saudis and (sigh) Warren. One total mention of a horse face.

I’m on board with this. It’s not worth one more minute of my life.

This has definitely been my experience. Nobody who isn't addicted to being outraged seems interested in making outrage much of a part of their day-to-day realities.

The irony of a Reuters notification regarding a synagogue shooting in Pittsburgh popping up as I wait for this article to load is rich indeed...and I’m just the type that link is describing.

Yeahhh...miss me with this this "everything is fine" bullshit. Our president is a fascist. Let's, like, care about that, please.

To be fair, even if our president wasn’t the worst in recent/not so recent memory, there would still be a lot of terrible things in the world that a little backroads driving could help us ignore.

Is it ethical to turn the news off and feel the wind rushing through the car window as you careen down the highway towards swaths of autumn orange and sky blue blanketing the horizon?
Or is it our patriotic duty to be always FURIOUS?

Up until the last century mass communication wasn’t a thing. People probably didn’t know much about what was happening outside of their county on a regular basis. I envy those people who lived for centuries without the weight of every horrible thing happening across the whole world. So no Reid, I say there’s nothing unethical about enjoying an autumn drive.

They were probably too busy anyway, what with all the childhood labor, anesthesia-free dentistry, outdoor shitters, teenage marriage, flu death, and rushing to get to church early so they could sit in one of the three or four seats remotely close to the only heat source.
