Ugh. I felt so old today. One of my coworkers.
"Hey B, you like Pearl Jam, right? I was watching a thing about Ticketmaster and Taylor Swift today, and they showed some clips from a long time ago of one of the guys in Pearl Jam testifying at Congress!"
I am so certain that Pearl Jam's Ticketmaster fight predated her birth. Ugh.

Whenever I get asked about Ticketmaster when people know of my PJ history, I just tell them all of the horrors of 10C ticket incompetence that I went through, and then state the hot take of "Ticketmaster is good, actually".
better to just play music for fun, rather than career

Noticed that TM now offers payment plans for some concert tickets. I get that it helps folks who cannot afford to buy a $100+ ticket, but it just feels wrong.

Good bump, because I forgot to mention: I heard the other day that acts that work with TM can actually opt out of the flex pricing. So the PJ ticket price debacle from the last sale could've been avoided?

My 9 y.o. loves Imagine Dragons, as 9 y.o. boys do, so I registered for a pre-sale code to get tickets which were set to go on sale this morning. I checked last night to look at the seating chart as I hadn't been to Merriweather in years and to my surprise a few dozen pavilion seats were available the night before the fan presale started, so I got a pair rather than risk missing out in the morning. This morning seats in the same row were $100 more and seats a few rows closer were triple what I paid. Concerts will only be for the rich soon.

Here's the results after the on-sale. Pink dots are "verified resellers" (scalpers).
For all the bitching about PJ tickets, at least it doesnt look like this.
