Twitter (and Facebook) have a significant number of former FBI, CIA, and NSA agents on payroll for... reasons. I don't believe Burt was referring to the Federal payroll.

"Coddling" is a foundational text for me, so despite some less than stellar writing I think Haidt is correct here:

He is careful to avoid the next logical leap in the changing social dynamics amoungst the young, but it's difficult not to make it when reading this.

Social media can be terrible for anyone’s mental health, regardless of age. But that doesn’t mean it’s all bad. Just like anything really.

They had their own fuck up, but if I Google a restaurant, I want the restaurant. If I want to fuck the restaurant, I can download the DoorDash app on my own. I don't need Google to trick me into fucking the restaurant.
