No idea. There's a money spigot that goes to city outreach workers and NGOs. How much of that ends up being useful services who knows. Someone's getting paid though.

If you enjoy fentanyl or meth and don't want to get hassled by the cops, it would seem that word gets around that Portland, San Francisco, and LA are the places to be.

Aww shit, Seattle will really have to up the ante to get on you radar

Add Seattle to the list. They all have an abundance of homeless shelters/tent cities too.

Gonna be interested to see if the pandemic (talk about Engage Now Or Die!) gets people to keep engaging more in hyperlocal elections like school district trustees and health district boards.

Are you in Seattle proper or a suburb?

Think of all the trouble you can make for them once you're on the city council of one of their suburbs!

Over here there's a section of unincorporated Ada County that has "Boise" as their mailing address, but they very much hate that and revel in the fact that they aren't Boiseans, because they don't want to pay what they consider to be their outrageous taxes. I know one of these folks, and he'll regularly lament that while he likes the lower taxes, he does sometimes regret that he can't try to vote out some of the politicians within Boise when they piss him off.

They ever rebuild those burned store fronts in Idaho City? Did the owner get in trouble? I had heard it was an obvious case of arson for insurance.

Does Boise still have Brass Lamp Pizza? I miss that.

No clue.

Nope. The Boise one is now a cool brewhouse that retains a lot of the history. The McCall one got torn down as a victim of a bad San Diego developer's delusion to try to transform that town into Sun Valley 2.0.

But did they set it up, or just agree to take the blame?

I'd guess the latter, but we may never know. But since it didn't work and all Terry's campaign folks had to delete their "omg nazis for youngkin" tweets he's gone with this:

It's like he wants us moderates to vote Republican tomorrow.

This, and bring out mysteriously inflated coronavirus figures for hospitalized children. If Youngkin wins, your children will die of the 'Rona!

Election day. We’ll see if the city of Seattle stays on course circling the toilet bowl or if voters make sane choices.

538 just gave Youngkin slightly better odds, anyone in or close to VA think that's prudent?

We were in VA last weekend, drove from Baltimore to Warrenton, then to Charlottesville, then to Dulles. We only saw Youngkin signs (lots) around Warrenton and the rural roads we took; and I was surprised to see very little McAuliffe signage in Charlottesville.
