The Georgia primary is about five weeks away. Brian Kemp has a ten point advantage over former Senator David Perdue. Trump has held a couple rallies here and of course endorses Perdue over Kemp, who he sees as a turncoat for the way Kemp handled the election. Kemp was a Trump darling during the early days of the pandemic. There are of course Perdue ads with Trump in them but Kemp also has a couple ads with Trump sound bites. There’s a couple Trump endorsed wack jobs running for lower positions such as Lt Governor and Secretary of State that could well win the nomination. Meanwhile it appears Herschel Walker is going to be the Senate nominee in a cake walk. Walker is also Trump endorsed. He has no business running for senator, much less being one. It’s going to be embarrassing. I’d like to apologize to my Alabama friends for electing a gym coach (Tommy Tuberville) to the Senate because we’re about to do something similar.

There’s been a noticeable uptick in political commercials as we’re a month out from the primary. I just saw back to back ones for the Republican gubernatorial race for Kemp and Perdue. They were similar, showing the candidates talking to people in farm fields or a convenience store or such. Neither seem set in a city and the only person of color included was a picture of Stacy Abrams.

Early voted today. Walked right in, zero line. I voted Republican but made sure to vote against Trump endorsed candidates.
This was me today. We'll see what happens tonight but I'm feeling good about all the races except AG--that's an office that is underrated on how much damage an extremist can do.

Look at all you sane people finally coming around
...? I've been doing this ever since the GOP closed their primary here.
Anyway, unfortunately the extreme AG candidate (Raúl Labrador) did pull off the victory. I fully expect him to attach this state to some lunatic lawsuits in the coming future. SOS was also much closer than I thought but ultimately the main reason why I thought there wouldn't be disaster there is that there were two crazies in that race that split their voter base.

Newsom has recently done a couple of things that uncharacteristically might improve his subject's quality of life, between this and homeless courts. Does he have a rule that a particular issue needs to be sufficiently terrible for a decade before the state will act on it?
