We were in VA last weekend, drove from Baltimore to Warrenton, then to Charlottesville, then to Dulles. We only saw Youngkin signs (lots) around Warrenton and the rural roads we took; and I was surprised to see very little McAuliffe signage in Charlottesville.

As of this morning's commute the signage in Arlington/McLean/Tysons is mostly McAuliffe, but didnt make it out to Loudoun yet. Everywhere else seems to be Youngkin, which isn't surprising in VA. Lotsa young people sporting their I Voted stickers, so I guess that's good for Terry in the inner ring burbs.

The WS had me occupied but the election returns are disappointing; the little Trumps won and the Ds look like they’re going to get crushed in ‘22.
And big Trump isn’t going anywhere. It’s depressing.

The notion that anyone with R next to their name is a Trump supporter … that shit is comical. Get a grip.

The party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.

The other thing that is particularly interesting is how little has been said about VA electing it's first black woman (and an immigrant at that) to hold statewide office. I can't imagine why.

Kshama Sawant is a socialist and member of the Seattle City Council, you may have heard of her.

Ballots are currently out for her recall vote on December 7th. She has broken multiple laws while in office.

I saw today where 53% of the funding for her anti-recall campaign came from outside of Washington state. That is interesting.

Only residents of her district in Seattle (about 75,000 eligible voters) get to cast a ballot on this. Within that district, 23% of the anti-recall campaign funding was generated compared to 40% for the recall vote.

A lot of outside interest in this “local” election (recall vote, that is).

No great surprise to see that Stacey Abrams is running for Georgia governor again.

At least this time she’s not running against a crooked Secretary of State.

So the De Santis military… get it formed and trained up now, so they’re all set to attack the Capitol in 2024?

David Perdue is indeed running for governor. He lost his US Senate seat to Jon Ossoff last year. I thought he was your typical southern conservative Senator but not nutso. He was pro Trump though and it was expected he would get into the race to primary Brian Kemp, who is nutso. While pro Trump Kemp did not try to undermine the election results in Trump’s favor and has since been called a rino in right wing media. It’s going to be a messy campaign between these two. Trump will endorse Perdue, if he hasn’t already. Georgia has plenty of pro Trumps conservatives and it’s going to be a fight for Kemp to be the nominee. The winner will almost certainly go up against right wing boogey(wo)man Stacey Abrams. It’s going to be a fun watch.
What’s scary is there are plenty of pro Trumpers running for state office. While we are a red state I can see us going full MAGA.

Today David Perdue said he would not have certified the election that gave Biden the win here.
