Seems like a good track if you are northern Florida, and really really bad if you are southern Florida.

Things are forecasted to be worst in the Keys and the western part of the state. Lots of people talking about Miami, but it's Naples and Tampa that are going to get the shit:

Really crazy stuff. I hope no one gets killed, and that everyone on RM is safe.

Six fewer Christmas cards to send out.

I'm kidding, of course; I hope they're a bit further inland and that they stay safe.

I thought of some others too. They're all staying of course.
I watch the Florida Governor tell everyone in the state to leave, but no one does.

Let's see ... they're in Orlando, Melbourne, Jacksonville, Gainesville, and Clearwater.

Yeah, we also don't want AIDS ridden Floridian sex workers in Ohio, we have our own already.

I know someone in Tampa who isn't evacuating. Seems like...not the smartest decision. Though I must admit I would also be tempted to stay if it were me.

Yeah, today I found out that my sister-in-law's grandmother--who is 90--refused to leave her retirement village in Naples. So her dad rerouted a return from a business trip to China and they're gonna ride out the storm together.

We're expecting some nasty weather later tomorrow & overnight. Nothing like what most of Florida is getting but it's very rare for us to get as much rain/wind as being forecast. Atlanta has never been under a Tropical Storm Warning before. The only other I remember getting us like this was Opal in the '90s. Lots of down trees with that one.

Dammit Jeff! Not again! How do you get into these crazy predicaments?

Re: Here comes the story of the hurricane

Sun September 10, 2017 6:45 pm

Jeff is the most hardcore storm chaser there is, and more power to him for going out there and getting the footage.

Some highlights from the last hour:

Trailer park being destroyed
130+ MPH winds
4 feet thick palm trees falling all over the road
A destroyed golf course

He says at 4:15 the water surge is likely to destroy Marco Island

Re: Here comes the story of the hurricane

Sun September 10, 2017 8:29 pm

Please tell me the golf course was at Mar a Lago

Re: Here comes the story of the hurricane

Sun September 10, 2017 9:55 pm

Nah, wasn't Mar a Lago.

Although now we need to hope the hurricane fucks over those scientologist scumbags in Clearwater. Them being destroyed would be better than Mar a Lago being destroyed, honestly.
