Biden still has the African American vote by a wide margin.

Biden’s biggest problem is the “second choice candidate” polling. Warren is the preferred second choice by a wide margin for Sanders fans and for Harris and Buttigieg followers, and is roughly even with Biden for every other candidate’s voters. When people start dropping out, she’s likely to pick up a lot more followers than he is.

That’s a big part go how Obama flipped his circumstances against Clinton in 08. He was a lot of people’s second choice...she was almost nobody’s.

I think the real golden gun is the Sanders-Warren unity ticket.

I am thinking about putting a bet down on Warren winning the election while the odds are still good.

(Kick me when I forget to do so and I mourn my lost windfall.)

Assuming she can successfully pivot away from the SJW fucktardery required to win the nom, she would be the best option we have right now.

I might be out in left field, but I think Warren has a real opportunity here that is reminiscent of the 1980 election but maybe in exact reverse in terms of ideology. I mean, you have a pretty unpopular president (Trump and we’ll. Carter at the time) with much international turmoil affecting people’s bottom line (trade wars and the oil crisis in the late 70s) and a pretty charismatic candidate looking at a real fundamental policy change that just might stick (Reaganomics and Medicare for All). The former changed the base conversation on politics for good or ill for the next 40 years. The latter will be tested over the next several months. Personally, I do hope that she does pull ahead, and I have been impressed with her campaign after rebounding from its initial roll out.

I could also be way overthinking this.

after trump's win I think everyone is over-thinking this thing.

Or they overthink Trump’s win and underthink the midterms.

Funny how once a populist message catches hold, it doesn't really just go away because grandpa showed up and started squawking

Sort of what Bi_3 said, but also that Trump came in on a populist message in 2016 (while Bernie's own populist message got sidelined by Wasserman-Schultz). Now both sides are taking their own approach to populism, only the right is calling the left's "socialism," and the left is calling the right's "fascism."

It's still just the same old battle for the soul of the middle class, but the messaging has gotten so fucked and distorted.
