The board's server will undergo upgrade maintenance tonight, Nov 5, 2014, beginning approximately around 10 PM ET. Prepare for some possible down time during this process.

"This could present a counterargument to the “emerging Democratic majority” thesis, which argued that the direction of the country’s demographic growth would disproportionately help Democrats. One of the more fascinating examples of this is Starr County, Texas, along the U.S.-Mexico border, where 96 percent of the population is of Hispanic or Latino origin. In 2016, Clinton won Starr by about 60 points. But Biden only carried it by 5 points, a massive shift." - some dude on 538
Holy crap, Burt was right. Not all Latino people think exactly how progressives tell them too! If only we had more Chelsea Handlers to help...

I am far more positive about this than I was last night. I think Biden will close on Nevada, WI, and MI this morning.

Yup. Both Michigan and Wisconsin looking pretty good for Biden right now.

My family (all Latino, obviously; some of them US citizens registered in Florida) overwhelmingly support Trump. Last night the group chat turned into my aunts and uncles spouting dumb Facebook Boomer shit about how Biden is a socialist Maduro supporter. As many people are saying today, "Latino" is an extremely wide swath of cultures and nationalities, many of them very conservative (especially those that are wealthy, and also those that immigrated to the US and feel protective of having done it "the right way"). It's not really surprising to me that many of them find Trump appealing. This is something the Democrats need to address moving forward if they don't want to lose their support completely

I’ve heard others echo similar statements and I agree that the blue team needs to be more proactive vs just assuming “not white means blue”. It will be interesting to see the Asian American vote given the rising power of that group
