The board's server will undergo upgrade maintenance tonight, Nov 5, 2014, beginning approximately around 10 PM ET. Prepare for some possible down time during this process.
I feel like Bloomberg's entry would only help the very people he's afraid of (Warren, Bernie), since he obviously isn't appealing to their base. And the addition of a 2nd billionaire who's come to save the day does not seem in line with where this primary is. I'd be surprised if he cracks 3-4% unless Biden drops out.
He's not just another billionaire though, he's previously been elected to run the biggest city in the country.
I'm sorry but if you think the 77-year old billionaire former mayor of New York who couldn't even fix the MTA is going to just stumble in to the nomination you have a fucking brain injury.

Wow so edgy!
About the level of political insight I expect from this board.

If it was 10-15 years ago... maybe? The party, like NYC, has moved left. And America's flirtation with a "billionaire businessman as president" moved past the flirting stage in 2016 and almost straight to the "I've made a huge mistake" stage.

Unfortunately I think you are right. Like I said months ago, Bloomberg/Harris would be a great ticket

NY Governor’s office holds the keys to the MTA, not the Mayor

Bloomberg has taken a prominent stand on gun control and climate change
radical lefties might even pry in to find he promoted a soda ban to curb excessive sugar
he’s put his money into progressive initiatives
he is well-spoken
he is jewish (so doesnt qualify for white power stereotype)
there is much the woke generation might come to like. there is much independent voters and moderate republicans and democrats already like.
cant wait for him to dismantle warren on stage

if the Dems wont nominate a particular candidate bc he/she doesnt fit demographic stereotypes then they deserve to lose
issues matter
character matters
physical appearance and sexual preferences should never matter

I'd be fine with either a Warren or Bloomberg presidency.
The former would be the most realistic scenario for our country to conduct an experiment with socialist democracy; either it'll fly in practice, or it won't and the idea can be put to pasture for the foreseeable future.
The latter would likely signal a return to moderate, business-as-usual politics but with the economic needle having moved just a smidge to the left.
In neither case do identity politics rule the ballot box, and Trump would be out, so it's a net win.
Larry Hogan is a decent man in a shitty world. Leave him be

And Congress holds the proverbial keys to healthcare, immigration, student debt, etc. Of course unlike the MTA board, the President actually does not directly nominate 19% of congresspeople. "I couldn't fix it and it's out of my hands" despite being in a position to exert significant authority is not exactly a sterling reputation for governance.

In any case, these predictions of Bloomberg ascendence are so blisteringly awful that I would gladly PM any of you morons my Venmo handle in order to set up a friendly wager. $100 he's not the nominee.

You might want to remember, of course, that Bloomberg's basic political orientation is already on stage (Buttchug) and is polling around 7% nationally, despite being significantly younger in a primary season where the demonization of old white billionaires is uhh kind of a thing.

But please, don't let that stop you from allowing me to take your money.

Subway trains ran a lot better when he was in office than DeSlobbio.
