We have given Ukraine 1 million artillery shells and we are only belatedly trying to ramp up production.

This is not a partisan thing, Congress should have acted in 2008 to acknowledge that Russia is a dick and we should be ready to stomp on them.

That'd be one way to end the war. The soldiers just leave.

Russian troops discuss mass exodus from frontline in leaked calls as Putin faces mutiny

Maybe our intel knew they were inept and their arms were decrepit.

Where Congress is involved, they were probably pushing for more funding for Litoral Combat Ships than the artillery shell factory in a less politically relevant district.

quite the numbers

The Ukrainian Army General Staff has said that "some 95,260" Russian servicemen have been killed in action, including 500 over the past day, before adding that 2,966 battle tanks, 1,931 artillery systems, 211 anti-aircraft defense systems and 404 self-propelled and armored multiple rocket launchers have been destroyed.

So Russia's claims that they are fighting directly against NATO aren't so out there. Seems like a dumb thing to admit to.

New Israeli government intends to comment even less on Russia's activities in Ukraine. Seems like a possible opportunity for The Squad and nationalist righties to touch base to start threatening Israel's defense subsidies.

They aren't Saudi Arabia, they don't have economic leverage over us. Why can't we at least prod them on this issue?

Saudi Arabia didn't get some of the first orders of F-35s off the line. Can we at least slow roll deliveries of certain systems to Israel? Literally the only leverage Russia has over Israel is the existence of certain Russian Oligarchs being of Jewish ancestry, which is an especially bad look for Bibi.

Seems like a hard thing to get support for, calls of Antisemitism would be pretty quick. No?

You'd have to somehow get enough MAGA/ America Firster types to split off from mainstream evangelicals (probably unshakably pro-Israel). I don't think you can get enough from either side to get a big enough coalition to pass something like this. The squad has some level of protection from anti-Semitism charges and might avoid any such coalition because that would be more of a liability for MAGA types.

It is frustrating that this is such a one sided relationship. Seems shortsighted for Israel as well. If they ever start shit with Iran the US could always just not show up. The typical American's quality of life is far more dependent on an Independent Taiwan than a Jewish majority Israel.

It seems several of the wannabe autocratic countries around the world are watching closely and want Putin to win simply to further their aims. China obviously but in African nations the invasion is being portrayed exactly opposite as it is In the west and framed within the context of those countries experiences under colonialism and taking back what’s theirs and what the west owes them etc.

No surprise that Israel on board for that.

China doesn't want Russian to win. China wants a long-running stalemate that burns through everyone else's weapons supply. They want UKR/Russia to finish what was started in Afghanistan, the exhaustion of West.

And no need to retcon Israel into this, Israel will not support Iran's partners over the US.

A. That’s the plot point of the last Jedi. ‘They’re clearing out our cannons!’

2. The wests weapons supply is endless.

D. Israel and the wests support for its genocide of Palestinians is the hypocrisy of it all but is now in focus and may be at an end.

Long overdue
